An everyday fruity green tea.

Origin - Türkeye

Tea arrived in Türkiye along the Silk Road and has been cultivated on the lush eastern Black Sea coast, particularly in the Rize region, since the 1920s. Today, it is far more than an agricultural crop. Tea cultivation supports over 200,000 families, and the annual harvest often shapes important milestones in life, from education to marriage, through the much-anticipated "tea money" it provides.

Tea has also transformed the landscape itself. Steep mountainsides are carpeted with emerald tea gardens that cling to every slope, nourished by abundant rainfall and the region's famous sea of clouds rolling in from the Black Sea.

Beyond its economic importance, tea is woven into the fabric of daily life and hospitality in Türkiye. A tulip-shaped glass of tea is offered wherever you go, welcoming guests, fostering conversation, and bringing people together. It is no surprise that Türkiye ranks among the world's leading tea-consuming nations.

While Turkish tea culture has traditionally centered on black tea, a new generation of artisans is redefining what Turkish tea can be. These dedicated producers are crafting exceptional handmade specialty teas that showcase the unique terroir of the Black Sea region and the remarkable potential of Turkish tea.

Profile - Handpicked and handcrafted by the team at Lasika Tea Company, this black tea reflects the dedication of a predominantly women-led workforce. Its silvery-dark leaves brew into a luminous amber-red infusion with earthy depth and a distinct sense of terroir. Notes of sweet chocolate, toasted nuts, and warm butter unfold on the palate, creating a rich yet balanced cup that brings elegance to the start of the day.
